WAYS WE CAN HELP

PHONE CONSULTATION

A free 15-minute phone call is a simple place to start. We’ll talk through your concerns, learn a bit about your child’s communication, and discuss whether a speech and language evaluation may be the appropriate next step.

SPEECH EVALUATION

A comprehensive evaluation helps us understand your child’s communication strengths, identify areas for support, and determine whether speech therapy is recommended. You’ll receive a written report and clear recommendations following the evaluation.

IN-HOME SPEECH SERVICES

Therapy takes place in your child’s home, where communication happens naturally. Sessions include direct, play-based therapy, along with parent coaching, so you have real strategies to use between visits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the steps for getting my child started with speech therapy?

Step 1: Start with a complimentary phone consultation.
We’ll talk about your concerns, make sure LM Speech feels like a good fit, and schedule an evaluation when appropriate.

Step 2: Complete your new client paperwork.
Forms are sent electronically and should be completed before your evaluation.

Step 3: Meet for your child’s evaluation.
We’ll assess your child’s communication skills, discuss the results, and determine whether therapy is recommended. Evaluations are typically completed over one to two 45–60-minute sessions.

Step 4: Begin therapy.
If therapy is recommended, we’ll establish goals and find a regular appointment time that works for your family. Therapy is typically recommended one to two times per week depending on your child’s needs.

What if I already have a recent speech-language evaluation?

We’re happy to review it and determine whether an additional evaluation is needed.

Where will services be provided?

Services are primarily provided in your child’s home, where we’re able to work on communication within familiar routines and everyday play. Alternative locations may be available when arranged in advance.

How long will my child be in therapy?

Every child’s needs and progress are different, so there isn’t one set timeline for therapy. We’ll monitor your child’s progress, adjust goals as needed, and keep you informed along the way.

Will you collaborate with my child's other therapists, specialists, or school?

Absolutely. With your permission, we’re happy to collaborate with your child’s therapists, specialists, teachers, and school team to provide more coordinated support.

Do you accept insurance?

LM Speech & Language Therapy is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. If your plan is in network with our practice, we’ll submit claims directly to your insurance company. Your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your individual benefits, including any deductible, copay, or coinsurance.

For families using out-of-network benefits, payment is collected at the time of service and we can submit claims on your behalf for possible reimbursement.

Prefer to pay privately? We accept credit and debit cards, cash, checks, and eligible FSA/HSA funds.

Do I need a referral from my child’s doctor?

A physician referral may be required depending on your insurance plan.

Even when a referral isn’t required, we value collaboration with your child’s pediatrician. With your permission, we can share evaluation reports, progress updates, and other relevant information.
