Welcome to Parent Guides: Simple Speech & Language Support for Real Life

If you’ve ever found yourself Googling “Is it normal that my toddler…” after bedtime, this part of the blog is for you.

I’m Lauren, a speech-language pathologist and the owner of LM Speech & Language Therapy in Frankfort, Illinois. Most of my work is with little ones, especially toddlers and preschoolers who are late to talk or need a little extra support with their communication.

After years of working with families, I’ve learned that parents usually aren’t looking for more information.

They’re looking for someone to help make sense of it.

Someone they can ask:

Is this typical?

What can I do at home?

Should I be doing something differently?

These are the kinds of conversations I have with parents all the time. And honestly, so many of the same questions come up again and again.

Those are the ones I’ll be sharing here.

You’ll find simple explanations about speech and language development, practical ideas you can actually use at home, and a little more context around the questions that parents are already asking.

Just clear, parent-friendly information to help you understand your child a little better and feel more confident about how to support them.

That’s really what I hope this space becomes.
